This Blows Goats

Thw Houston Chronincle caught up with Jerry Trupiano:

Former Houston radio mainstay Jerry Trupiano is watching the World Series with mixed emotions.

The longtime voice of the Red Sox was let go after the 2006 season but remains friends with several players, including team captain Jason Varitek and Kevin Youkilis.

"You look at things from a distance now," Trupiano said this week from his Boston-area home. "You'd love to be there for those guys. I'm really happy for them. It would have been nice to be there again."

Trupiano is helping care for his wife, Donna, who is recovering from recent surgery.
