Looks like P.J. Loyello is on the hook for the Geffner hiring in Marlin Country.
Here's the Marlins' official release, which sounds preposterous in the extreme.
"The Florida Marlins organization is thrilled to welcome Glenn and his family back home to South Florida," said Loyello. "Although we received significant interest from many qualified candidates, Glenn's impressive baseball background, coupled with his desire to be an active member of our organization and community, made him the right choice. Fans across the Florida Marlins Radio Network will enjoy listening to long-time great Dave Van Horne and Glenn for many years to come, starting with our first broadcast on March 1."
Yuh, well, ok...
tick, tock
By the way, there is NO TRUTH to the report that Joe C was seen in downtown Hampden Connecticut handing out 50 dollar bills to random passers-by.

In that Miami Herald story, Barry Jackson wrote that Goofie beat out 146 applicants. Either the other applicants were worse than the Goofster (impossible to believe) or the person who selected him was on something. It doesn't matter. Goofie is now Miami's problem.
Suck shit, fish.
Does that leave our surly but lovable, merciless and relentless, correspondent with no raison d'etre?
Seeing as it is Miami, and it is the Florida Marlins, I am not surprised in the least.
