The Division Series is on TBS, home of Frank Caliendo and little else, apparently. Now, Frank Caliendo is a talented impressionist, but to be honest he works better on radio.
Half the time on the Frank TV spots,I don't know who he is trying to mimic. Or, I don't care enough to try to figure it out.
As for the TBS baseball announcers, it's like the baseball version of Hannity and Colmes.
Hannity (Buck Martinez) is all-knowing and loud and repetitive ("feed the middle" WE GET IT), whereas Chip Carey (Colmes) is a cipher, who wouldn't have the job if his granpappy wasn't such a loudmouth drunk announcer for so many years.
On the radio side, Joe C. and Mr.Obie have characteristically kicked it up a notch. This was pleasant listening as long as the RS were ahead, but clearly Joe was feeling mighty poorly when the Sox had multiple squanders in Sunday night's entertaining, but monstrously protracted game.
On the plus side, Glenn Geffner has already started working on his off-season diet.
On the negative, when ( see,I said when) the Red Sox advance in the playoffs, Obie will be exclusive to MLB International.
The Lord Giveth and She Taketh Away.
