True, I have been complaining about its poor production values and College Radio ethos, but now we learn that MLB Network doesn't have its own crew at the WBC, the crown in Bud Selig's thorn.
This from sfgate.com :
Both of last night's games were on the MLB Network, using an international feed. Left to its own devices, MLB (to say nothing of ESPN) might have avoided the long-view shots that showed so few people in the stands, both in Miami and San Diego. The international-feed director couldn't have cared less, at times revealing that angle for 10-12 seconds.
Are you kidding me? At this point, C-Span has higher production values than the MLB Network.
I hope Costas enjoys calling game re-creations from his parlor.
