Showing once again that it is a second rate operation, the MLB network carried the Sox-Yankees game last night...except that it didn't, apparently, in the NESN feed area, which includes me.
This tells me that they were just lifting the NESN feed for the rest of the country. What a lame ass "network".
In NESN land they threw on an old clip show, voiced by Mel Allen, of the 1961 World Series between the Reds and the Yankees. Don't get me wrong, who doesn't want to relieve the glory days of Jim O'Toole and Wally Post, not to mention Frank Robinson when he could run. But what a joke.
Later, MLB featured a pot-bellied Dwight Gooden talking to Harry Reynolds and Matt Vaginaserian. To be honest, that was touching, but only because Gooden seems genuinely repentant.
