Tim Wakefield

Ok, this is a story I have told a few times. But,it bears repeating.


I walked up to a game at Oakland Stadium one day, and said "give me your best seat".

turned out to be in the first row down the right field line, right where the Red Sox bullpen was,
Wake was in the BP then.


I had gotten chatty with the security guy on the field during the game,. Wake goes to warm up with the KB.

Security guy ( a respectable black gentleman similar in age to me (meaning old)), turns to me and says "what the fuck is that?"


It's why I loved baseball.
